Polished Concrete Maintenance

Maintaining polished concrete is relatively easy but does require some regular maintenance.

The most important part of maintaining polished concrete is to keep dirt and dust particles off the polished floor. Any kind of debris acts like sandpaper and will accelerate the wearing process.  Simple dusting and damp mopping is the simplest way to extend the life of polished concrete flooring.  Having mats in the entrance way to wipe dirty shoes also helps keep dirt and grime off the floors.

There are special products on the market today that not only clean polished concrete flooring but leave a dust-resistant coating on the surface.  These products are usually applied with mop and do not require buffing.
